DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY - MYTHO (L,D,
65km)
We leave Chi Minh City for the Mekong Delta.
Continuing onto Tan An we commence our
cycling through the lugh Mekong Delta. We visit
the colorful Cao Dai temple on the way.
At My Loi we transfer by ferry to cross one of
the many tributaries of the Mekong River. We
continue cycling through a particularly
picturesque part of the delta known as Go Cong.
From here it is a further 25km to the town of My
Tho where we will stay for the night.
DAY 2: MYTHO - BENTRE -
TRAVINH (L,D, 45km)
Today we combine cycling with ferry rides to get
our isolated and fascinating destination of Tra
Vinh. From My Tho after we cycle the short
distance to a ferry crossing, which will take us
to Ben Tre Province. On the other side we cycle
for approximately 12km along typical country
roads to
another ferry and then a further 25km. After a
final ferry journey we arrive in Tra Vinh. From
here we have time to explore this most
remarkable of areas. Tra Vinh is home to over
300,000 ethnic Khmer who keep their culture
alive including their practice of Theravada
Buddhism. Her we can see authentic Khmer pagodas
including the Ong Met Pagoda as well as the
colorful and ornate Chinese Ong Pagoda.
DAY 3: TRAVINH - CAIBE -
TRAON(B,L, D 30km)
We continue on from Tra Vinh after breakfast and
cycle through a beautiful landscape of
rice paddies and lush green fields, waterways
and fruit orchards. En route we pass
through several delta towns before arriving at
Caibe Explore the lively Cai Be floating market.
Cruising amongst the
mazes of waterway to visit the handicraft
villages and meet with local people.
Sightseeing the old house and sample various
tropical fruits.
Lunch on board while Le Cochinchine sets sail
through Cho Lach to Mangthit. Embark on a
pleasant walking or biking on the footpaths of
the countryside to discover tropical fruit
orchards and the local people's activities. En
route to visit a cottage industry , a local farm
and sample seasonal fruits. Leisurely cruise up
the Mekong River taking in the beautiful scenery
and the magnificent sunset on sunset on the
river while sipping aperitifs. A wonderful day
with picturesque ferry crossings over Mekong
River branches
DAY 4 : CANTHO -
CHAUDOC (B,L,D)
Breakfast on board while
enjoy the magnificent sunrise on Hau Giang river
The morning bobbling commotion of Mekong river
life comes to life for another lovely day we
breakfast and set sails to Can Tho through
tributary and canals. A small boat
will take you to CaiRang floating market. One of
the most bustling floating markets in Mekong
Delta with hundreds of small boats bargaining
and jostling for space as owners attempt to sell
their goods.
Go for walk or cycling
along the canals and the palm-shaded creek to
see local houses and green orchards, ship
building yards, rural and
water activities in full swing. Afternoon we
head out on our drive journey to Longxuyen.
Visit the farm of Banglang, and incence making
villages
in Longxuyen. Continue onto Chaudoc for the
night.
DAY 5: ARRIVAL PHNOMPENH
(B)
After breakfast our speed boat takes us cross
the border browsing the quaint riverside
villages of Vietnam & Cambodia
toward PHnompenh.Our trip concludes
