Mrs. Janice has just returned from her tour with 7 friends and wanted to let anyone planning a South East Asia trip to consider Discovery Indochina. “Our contact person Cristal Yao nailed it! All of our guides were wonderful offering information and history wherever we went.”
The thing Janice like the most was the great staff we have. They started in Hanoi and were met by Mr. Quyen at the airport. Although their group had 3 arrival times, Mr. Quyen met everyone. We arranged hotel La Siesta for Janice’s group “fabulous along with a wonderful helpful staff, great location also, easy walking to markets and street food.” Ms Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy was chosen to be their tour guide in Hanoi. “She was exceptional. She shared stories about family and traditions that were very interesting and entertaining.” Hoi An is an interesting place with her too “Love Hoi an. Magical city especially at night. Great place to have clothing made.”
In Ho Chi Minh, they were accompanied with Johnny to tourist sites such as floating Mekong Market, craft villages and a Lacquer museum. “Johnny also shared lots of family history. Some very touching and interesting.” Nick at Cu Chi tunnels impressed them too “He was also excellent and very knowledgeable of the American War in the area.”
Mr. Changseng guided them around the Phnom Penh area “very emotional part of tour, including Killing fields and the museum. Another good historian with lots of entertaining humor.” Siem Reap was wonderful as Ankor Wat is the jewell of the Cambodian Temples. Mr. Vannak took them to other smaller temples that were breathtaking. “Mr. Vannak was another great historian and very kind. We all love our tours wtih Mr. Vannak.”
Laos was the last stop and “was a real highlight”: a small country with lots of history and beautiful rivers and forests. Mr. Saylom “Yen” took them on boat and walking tours in Luang Prabang. “We loved the different temples and the presence of many monks. Very peaceful.” He arranged for them to offer sticky rice to monks on their daily walk. They were tired after a long trip. Before catching our plane, Yen arranged some massages and rest at a local club – a place with mats and available snacks and drinks.
“Our arrivals at airports and transfers were flawless.” We arranged each guide at the arrival point to help Janice and her friends load into their van timely. “All our hotels were wonderful. We used a combo of 4 and 5 star hotels.” The only complaint was out hotel in Luang Prabang, the Santi Resort and Spa. “It was too far out of town and the staff had difficulty getting us rides and answering questions. The grounds were beautiful, however.”
Cristal arranged for them such an “amazing, interesting, and fun trip”. Discovery Indochina provided all Janice’s request: biking, walking, swimming, boating without a hitch. “We will definitely use Discovery Indochina if we return to Indochina.”
