Dear Dzung,
Back from a very interesting trip to Vietnam, we really enjoyed it very much although we could not go deeper into the area due to the missing ‘special permits’. But never mind, I have a good impression of this area.
There were not so many textiles available, but we have found a few very interesting ones. Christina had to prepare a presentation, so I let her do the buying of the old ones, and I bought a few new ones,
just to stimulate the weaving.
Thanks very much for getting all this organized in such a very short time, but it was really worth it. We gave the ‘home-stays’ a miss, as we both preferred to have some comfort during the nights, an air conned room, and a toilet nearby. We are getting older Dzung!
QUESTION: As you know I’m very interested to see those shamans, either male or female. I know around Sapa,
Yen Bai Province, Lau Chau Province and probably in more area’s. Please, in case you know of something interesting let me know,
I will come with a few friends just like I did with the ‘Dance of the Holy Mothers’ in Phu Giay.
Hope you will find something!!!
Thanks again and of course the Tai People are always on my list to explore more,
