“On a whim, I had my hotel organized a motorbike tour around Hanoi yesterday afternoon. Lilian Anne from Discovery Indochina arrived at my hotel that afternoon.” Lilian made suggestions based on his interests and the time he had available.
“Whizzing around the streets of Hanoi on the back of Lilian’s bike was the best decision I made. You can cover a lot of ground and get a sense of the real Hanoi.” They started at Hoa Lo Prison, followed by the Temple of Literature, a bite to eat, the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, over Long Biên Bridge, Trấn Quốc Pagoda and finally local ice cream before Lillian dropped me at my food tour.
Here, in Discovery Indochina, we provide the best staff. Lilian spoke fluent English and at every site, and had an extraordinary wealth of knowledge “especially surprising given the complexities of Vietnam’s history”. Indeed, a number of other foreign tourists who observed Lilian explaining various historical or cultural matters to me, came up to us to ask a quick question or two of her. And each would then turn to me and say “wow, she’s really good”. She didn’t bother to help other tourists, either.
“I would strongly suggest that when you come to Hanoi you do a motorbike tour and, given my experience above, I would highly recommend Lilian Anne from Discovery Indochina. You will avoid the tourists’ traps, make the best use of your time and have a cheerful and knowledgeable guide.”
