When to Visit

You can visit Myanmar all the year round but the best time to come is between October and February as the weather during this period is neither too hot nor wet.

Entry Formalities

A valid Passport with Entry Visa is required of all visitors. A Tourist Visa allows a stay of 28 days, extendible for an additional 14 days. A Business Visa allows a stay of 28 days, extendible up to 12 months on a case-by-case basis. Visa on Arrival is granted on prior arrangement.

Customs Formalities

Foreign currency exceeding the equivalent of US$ 2,000, jewelry, cameras, video cameras, recording equipment and laptop computers must be declared at the airport. Failure to do so could end up in confiscation upon departure. Export of antiques and items of archaeological value are prohibited.

Foreign Exchange

No Credit cards are accepted.

Not required unless you are coming from an infected area.

What to Wear

Light, casual wear preferably made of cotton is suitable for all climates. Some warm clothes are necessary if you plan to visit northern Myanmar or other hilly regions in the cold season. Sandals or slippers are convenient as the dress code for Buddhist religious buildings prescribe decent apparel and no footwear including socks.

Manners and Etiquette

It is recommended that you refrain from kissing and hugging in public, pointing at things with your feet, sitting with your back to a Buddha image, improper use of or behavior toward a sacred thing as a Buddha image, and touching a monk.

Reservation and Confirmation

Reservation can be made by fax or Email. Once the reservation is confirmed, the client has to provide the naming list and room arrangements 14 days prior to arrival. If you are buying the whole package from us, we would provide a letter of confirmation for package visa application in order to avoid changing FEC on arrival.

Credit Cards & Traveler Cheques

Not widely use in our country except the International Hotels & a few souvenir shops in Yangon & Mandalay cities. Traveller Cheques can only be changed at the central bank of Myanmar in Yangon during office hour. It will be more convenient for the clients to bring in the US$ cash.
Due to recent sanctions of U.S to Myanmar Government, all the credit cards are not possible to use around the country since 01 Sept’03. So, the travellers are recommended to carry hard cash for their own using amount.

A good weather in October to February. The temperature will be 28′ C ~ 34′ C. In Shan State
(Kalaw, Inle, ) will be cooler than other cities, 12′ to 25′ C. From March to Mid May is the hot season where the average temperature is about 34′ C ~ 40′ C in low lands like Yangon, Bagan and Mandalay and about 25′ C ~ 34′ C in high land like Shan State. Mid May to Mid October is the rainy season. The visitors who are visiting during the rainy season should bring along the rain coats and medicine for stomach-ache.

Light clothes are suitable. For entering the pagodas or Monasteries, have to bring long sleeves pants (or) skirts.

Enough to bring only mosquito repellent

We perefer either TT or cash on arrival as credit card payment take a long time to declare back the money into our account due poor banking system. 50% of the tour cost or minimum of USD 200 per person is needed to deposite into our account by TT once the tour package is confirmed. The rest of the payment should be made at least 14 days before the group or clients’ arrival.

Mobile Phones

Your mobile phones could not use in Myanmar as Myanmar still do not have GSM network yet. You have to left your phone at the airport at custom counter and custom will give you back the slip, which you have to claim back up on your departure. As your mobile phones are not able to used in Myanmar, we are providing the telephone and fax number (if any because some of the places like Pindaya and Lake Inle still do not have telephone line access) for you to left with your family and friends to contact you during your stay in Myanmar. Email service is available at most of the hotels in Yangon and some international change hotels in Mandalay (Sedona, Mandalay Swan and Novotel)

Meal arrangements

Generally, we provide Chinese Set Menu throughout the tour at cities’ best standard restaurant. Buffet dinner and cultural show is included in Yangon and Puppet show and traditional Myanmar dinner is included in Bagan. One more Typical Myanmar meal is provided in Yangon and Bagan upon the clients requests.
