Ma Pi Leng (Ha Giang)
Ma Pi Leng is considered one of the most beautiful and dangerous mountain pass in the Northern Mountains. Therefore, this pass is like the Great Wall of Vietnam or the Great Pyramid of the Hmong. Ma Pi Leng (known as Ma Ling, Ma Leng) is about 20 km long over the peak of Ma Leng, a mountain with an elevation of about 1,200 m in the Dong Van plateau, , connecting Ha Giang, Dong Van and Meo Vac towns by Happiness Road.
The pass, like a thread, crosses the middle of the hills, creating a majestic setting for the rocky plateau. The literal meaning is the horse’s nose, while the name refers to the dangers of the mountain. At the peak of Ma Pi Leng, watching the Nho Que river glistening green year by year, the high peaks make everyone feel that they are getting lost in the middle of heaven.
O Quy Ho (Lai Chau)
O Quy Ho or Hoang Lien Pass, Hoang Lien Son is regarded as a long pass, challenging knees for the people. O Quy Ho originated from the screams of a bird, attached to the failed love story of a couple. This wild pass is 2,073m above sea level, reaching up to 50km. Thanks to the height, the ruggedness and length, O Quy Ho is known as “the North Pass King.”One side is the deep abyss and the another is upright cliffs, O Quy Ho is a challenge for long-distance drivers and dangerous signs are set up everywhere. When walking through O Quy Ho Pass with cloud around the mountain, visitors feel relaxed, forget the chaos of everyday life.
Pha Din (Son La)
Pha Din is a passageway leading to the heroic achievements in history. Situated on Highway 6 along the northwestern province, Pha Din is 32km long, is considered one of the six most impressive passes in Vietnam. The terrain is very dangerous, warp, one side is cliffs and the other is deep pool. Pha Din is always covered with clouds, under the foot stand the villages of the people. Standing on the steep slope of Dien Bien province, overlooking Muong Quai valley, Pha Din stretches the green hills . However, when approaching the peak of the mountain, it is almost impossible to see the village, only the deep blue sky and majestic mountains and forests. All blends create a poetic scene.
Khau Pha (Yen Bai)
Khau Pha Pass is one of the most steep in the country, passing Khau Pha md fields of Mong people are deep in yellow and brilliant color.ountain, the highest mountain in Mu Cang Chai. It is located on the border between Van Chan district and Mu Cang Chai district of Yen Bai province. Khau Pha means the horn (the horn rising to the sky), or sometimes referred to as the Heaven Gate. Khau Pha Pass is two thirds of the rocky boulder road. Throughout the length of the pass, there are several dozen paragraphs folding sleeve.
