  1. Weaving

Weaving is one of the main handicrafts of Cambodia, listed among the oldest traditional know-how in the country. It is passed from generation to generation. The traditional centers of silk and cotton weaving are Kampong Cham and Takéo provinces. The color of the Khmer costume changes according to the days of a week: yellow for Monday, purple for Tuesday, green for Wednesday, green moss for Thursday, blue for Friday, purple for Saturday and red for Sunday .

 

  1. Silverware

Silver craftsmanship is also part of a long tradition. He served mainly to the royal family and high society. Silver products have been used often during religious ceremonies in temples. Today, on the markets in Siem Riep or Phrom Penh, you can admire many objects in repousse silver such as bowls with offerings, cups, dishes, rice spoons, cutlery, jewels and a wide choice Betel nut boxes or jewelry boxes.

 

  1. Wood carving

Woodwork reflects the belief of Cambodians in vegetation. They practice the worship of a House Genius through a wooden statue. You can see patterns like the moon, stars and flower engraved on the columns and roof. In addition, Khmer people use Buddha statues and wooden objects to decorate their homes.
