Itinerary

DAY 1: YANGON

On arrival you will be welcomed by Discovery Indochina tour guide and transferred to the luxurious Governor’s Residence boutique hotel via an authentic colonial coach. In your room you’ll find a lovely present from Myanmar Shalom. Drive through downtown to explore the city centre and its fabulous mix of architecture and sites. The streets are filled with historical buildings many of which have a faded colonial charm not seen elsewhere in Asia. A bottle of champagne awaits you back in your room to enjoy before your own dinner.Overnight at the Governor’s Residence in Yangon.

DAY 2 :YANGON – BAGAN (B)

Morning flight from Yangon to Bagan. Upon arrival visit the quaint Minanthu village to view the traditional Myanmar way of life. You will spend the day exploring the architectural masterpieces of this amazing town by visit to a diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples. In the late-afternoon touring ancient temples from inside a romantic horse carriage, before enjoying a candle-lit dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Bagan at Thiripyitsaya Sakura hotel.

DAY 3:BAGAN (B)

Continue sightseeing in Bagan visit  monastery to witness the offering of food and alms to the monks, and even receive a personal marriage blessing of good luck and happiness. Then transfer to jetty where a private wooden river boat is waiting. Sitting under the shade or on the open-deck you’ll be treated to fabulous views as you cruise down the Irrawaddy River to Shwezigon Pagoda. You’ll pass by small villages on the river banks, fishermen, local boats and of course many riverside temples. The views of Bagan are spectacular and a different perspective from the usual sightseeing. On board a cocktail will be served, so relax and enjoy the scenery. As the sun begins to dip low in the sky, return to dry land and transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Bagan at Thiripyitsaya Sakura hotel.

DAY 4: BAGAN – HEHO – INLE LAKE(B)

After breakfast, fly to Heho, our gateway to Inle Lake. Known as the most beautiful lake in Myanmar, Inle Lake’s calm waters are surrounded by high hills and dotted with floating gardens and stilted villages. Then drive to NyaungShwe. A private local motorboat will escort you to your luxurious hotel for check in, before visiting the remarkable Nga Hpe Chaung (jumping cats) Monastery and its Shan Buddhas and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main sanctuary. Your romantic experience continues with a wine tasting at the Inle Princess Resort, before enjoying a private terrace dinner. Overnight in Inle Lake at Inle Princess Resort.

DAY 5:INLE LAKE – IN DEIN(B)

Continue our sightseeing in Inle Lake, maneuvering by boat though long, scenic channnels where we can watch the farmers cultivate their produce in “floating gardens”.  You will visit the fascinating village of Indein, with it’s complex of ancient shrines and stupas and walk though exotic colonnades of stairways and shop stalls.  We’ll visit the “long neck” tribal women, and weaving and craft villages perched on stilts. See the lake’s unique “leg rowers” – the Intha people row standing up with one leg wrapped around an oar. It is a feast for the senses and a photographer’s dream. Overnight in Inle Lake at Inle Princess Resort.

DAY 6:INLE – HEHO – YANGON(B)

Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Yangon. After lunch, you’ll head to the picturesque Bogyoke Market (formerly known as Scott Market), known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets. Then enjoy a romantic candle lit dinner at Le Planteur, a fine dining restaurant to cap up your romantic Myanmar journey. Overnight in Yangon at the Governor’s Residence.

DAY 7 :DEPART YANGON (B)

After breakfast, day at leisure until transfer to airport for International departure flight.
