Itinerary

 DAY 1: YANGON ARRIVAL DAY AND YANGON SITE-SEEING

Upon arrival at airport, after luggage collection, you will be welcome by local tour guide. In the afternoon, visit Kandawgyi Park to relax, Chaukhtetgyi Reclining Buddha image which is the biggest one in Yangon, and evening visit to the most significant pagoda, Shwedagon, which the global scholars describe as One of Wonders In The World. Shwedagon plays very important role in the Old Burmese History not only standing as the holiest structure for the Buddhist all over the world. Enjoy the sunset from nearly 26-century years old Most Glorious Buddhist Shrine.

Overnight in Yangon.

 

 

 

DAY 2. YANGON – PUTAO(B, L, D)

 After breakfast, transfer to Yangon Airport for the flight to Putao. Upon arrival at Putao airport   transfer to your guest house. Putao, lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region’s deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. After a brief fresh up, have a Local lunch and take a walk  around Putao for understanding on how your trekking can begin.

Dinner and overnight at Putao.

 

 

 DAY 3:  PUTAO – HTAWADUM – NAMKHAM(B,L,D)

 Breakfast and we visit attractive Putao market often busy with local ethnic tribes. We then depart through the vast Putao plain on pebbled road to Htawadum with the distance 14 km which takes us about one hour. Here we cross Malikha River by long-tailed boat to visit famous Kanugmulon Pagoda, said to be one of the 84000 pagodas built by Thiri Dhamma Thawka, the great king. We proceed walking toward Salundum but turn to Nampandum from Lona suspension bridge. From here we continue walk to Namkham with the distance 5 km which should take us about 3 hours passing through smaller villages such as Salundum and Htrandum etc. Namkham, a large Rawan village, situates at the bottom of Namhti mountain range which in rich with biodiversity of flora and fauna. Name after Hkamti Shan name meaning Golden River has became the centre of cultivation place for the fruits that Father Robert Moss has introduced thus to day famous for its sweet fruits production. We settle in at our guest house and walk around the village.

 

Dinner and overnight at local house.

 

 DAY 4: NAMKHAM – MACHANBAW – MULASHIDI – PUTAO(B,L,D)

 Breakfast and we start walk to Machanbaw with the distance 15 km which should take us about 6 hours through relatively low land terrain with occasionally ups and downs passing through some smaller villages such as Inwaingbaw and Inbubaw. Machanbaw is a small administrative town ex-Putao with beautifully set up colonial style town. We visit so-called “stone dragon” park which should take about 20 minute walk and we cross a suspension bridge spans across Malikha river to Naungkhine where our jeep awaits us and take us to Mulashidi Lisu village with the distance 35 km which should take about one hour to get there. We visit the attractive Lisu settlement and suspension bridge across Mula river. Enjoy beautiful surrounding often back drop with snow-capped mountains in distance. We return back to Putao and check in at your guest house.

Dinner and overnight at Putao Khakaborazi Guest House.

 

 DAY 5: PUTAO-YANGON(B)

 After breakfast, drive to Putao Airport for the flight back to Yangon. Depending on the arrival time in Yangon, the visits to Sule Pagoda and the downtown area of Old Rangoon with many colonial buildings along with modern skyscrapers, take a walk along the Pansodan Road where you can see many more well-preserved Colonial Buildings including Port Authority and proceed up to Strand Hotel built in 1901. Then drive to Mawtin jetty to see the river-side activities.

DAY 6: YANGON- MAWLAMYINE (B)

Today drive south to Mawlamein, the capital of the Mon State. The scenic journey takes you through typical Burmese villages and includes a stop in Bago to visit the town's massive reclining Buddha. You'll reach Mawlamein late this afternoon and take a stroll along the riverside which is lined with old colonial buildings. Overnight in Mawlamein.

 

DAY 7: MAWLAMYINE – EXCURSION TO SHAMPOO AND BILU ISLANDS (B)

Today explore the land and waters of the area with visits to Shampoo and Bilu Kyun Islands. Hear about ritualistic ceremonies from your guide and visit local monasteries, pagodas and nunneries of the area. Today will allow a real insight into rural Burmese life. Overnight in Mawlamein.

 

DAY 8: MAWLAMYINE (B)

Start today with a morning visit to the bustling colorful local market to see the variety of wares on sale. Then your day is spent sightseeing around Mawlamein. You'll visit the hillside stupa of Kyaik Thanlan, the Queen Sein Don Monastery with its many antiques and intricate carvings before enjoying sunset from the U Zina Pagoda. Overnight in Hpa An.

 

DAY 9:MAWLAMYINE – HPA AN (B)

A scenic drive today takes you to Hpa An, the Kayin State's quaint capital. During the journey, you'll stop at the Buddha-filled cave of Kha Yon and Kadoe Kawnat village to visit the local monastery. Upon reaching Hpa An visit the iconic sights of Kyauk Kalat and Mt Zwe Kabin, whose foothills are lined with thousands of identical Buddha statues and the 'Cave of Ten Thousand Buddhas'.

 

DAY 10: HPA AN – YANGON (B)

Before returning to Yangon, take a boat trip along the Than Lwin River. You'll go ashore to visit Dhamma Vizaya Pagoda and a Bat Cave then return to the jetty. Return by road to Yangon.

Then if the time permits, visit Yangon Zoological gardens built by the British more than 100 years ago. The Zoo houses a variety of animals from all parts of Myanmar as well as other foreign animals such as Lions, Ostrich and so on.

 

 

DAY11: YANGON DEPARTURE(B)

After breakfast, depending on the departure flight time, visits in Yangon can be included; Scott Market which sells many Myanmar Traditional Handicrafts, namely, Pan Sai Myo, 10 kinds of flowers; Blacksmith, Goldsmith, Coppersmith, Stone Carvings, Wood Carvings, Lacquer Wares, and so on (Scott Market is off every Monday!). Visit the Colonial British Built Train Station and can enjoy the train ride on one of City Circling train(one-hour clockwise ride from the station to Insein Station is recommendable!)

 

Transfer to Yangon International airport for the flight back home!
